Wilmot Cross Country finishes 2nd!

The girls cross country team finished second at the Milton Rock Run on Tuesday, Sept 22. The lady Panthers got their first team plaque in over five years behind Janesville Craig who finished
third in the state last year. Senior Emily Hamilton set the pace by winning the varsity race
with her second-best time of 15 minutes and 39 seconds. This is the third fastest time in
school history!! Sophomore Amy O’Connell took 8th place while freshmen Lindsay Clayton,
Sydney Hamilton, and Brittany Loveless all finished in the top 25 and scored points for
Wilmot. Freshman Kylie Arena got another personal best in her second varsity race while
senior Courtney White continues to improve.
Matt Betz medaled for the boys team which tied for fifth place at the meet.

Wilmot Cross Country wins Lakeside Invitational

The Wilmot Varsity girls cross country team won the Lakeside Invitational on Saturday, Sept 26. Senior Emily Hamilton and freshman Brittany Loveless finished 2nd and 5th respectively. Freshmen Lyndsey Clayton and Sydney Hamilton both ran personal bests to finish 6th and 7th.
Sophomore Haley Ravenscraft also stepped up with a personal best to round out the scoring
and ensure the win. Amy (Sophomore) was unable to run due to a leg injury but she'll be back and ready to go shortly.

The JV girls finished 2nd paced by sophomore Joanna Stozek who finished first, winning the
first race she ever competed in. Other medal winners included senior Kelly McCarville, junior
Sara Dillon, sophomore Hannah Stamper, and freshman Kelsey Welzen.

The boys varsity was led by sophomore Matt Betz who finished 10th overall while running a
personal best. Sophomore Jon Schiltz also ran a personal best with senior Nick Lindstrand,
junior Max Sim and sophomore Patrick Cannon rounding out the scoring for the boys.
Freshman Jordan Alexander earned a varsity point running his best race ever in the JV race.

Welcome to Minnesota!

Wow, what a way to win your first game in the Purple. I'll admit to being less than thrilled with getting involved in the #4 circus. But without question he is a better QB than any option they had. (I am disappointed they let John David Booty go and kept the other 2 clowns, so long-term there's still no answer). But with that said, we have a QB in Minny who can actually lead a game winning drive, something we're unfamiliar with. (Culpepper had 2 in his 7 seasons).
